Jane Kernan is an animator living in Burbank, CA. To advance the pursuit of entertaining cartoons, Jane develops new technology to simplify episodic television animation production. She is currently putting it to good use on her first web series (in pre-production) and, with historian Margo Burns, co-directing a feature-length animated account of the Salem witch trails.

Originally from Ottawa, Canada, Jane graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2006, when she began sharing the results of her experiments and experience through innovative animation courses. Jane travelled around New England teaching a blend of traditional draftsmanship fundamentals and state-of-the-art 2-D and 3-D animation at the Rhode Island School of Design, RISD Continuing Education, RISD Pre-College, Connecticut College Ammerman Center for Arts and Technology, The University of Rhode Island, and the Art Institute of Boston. Meanwhile, as a freelance artist, she created content for PBS Kids, LEGO, Ann Taylor, Yahoo, Hasbro and others.

Jane is the Certificate Advisor of Animation at the Rhode Island School of Design department of Continuing Education in Providence, RI. She was given the RISD Continuing Education Teacher of Excellence Award for 2013-2014.
